Where ships dock

  • Port of Albany (Southern Ports), Berths 1 and 2; ships that can't berth anchor and tender to the Albany Waterfront Marina

Getting to town

Southern Ports runs a free shuttle in a continuous loop between the ship and the town centre (about 8 minutes each way), stopping near the Town Square and the Albany Visitor Centre on York Street. You can also walk the 2 km (15 to 20 minutes), but it runs beside a busy heavy-truck route: use the pedestrian overpass at the Albany Entertainment Centre to cross the railway.

There's a small taxi stand inside the port. Private tours must meet you at the public car park outside the port gate, near the Albany Boatshed. On some ship days the Visitor Centre sells a return shuttle up to the National Anzac Centre: ask there, as it doesn't run for every ship.
