Where ships dock
- No cruise berth: ships anchor in Norddalsfjorden and tender to the Eidsdal ferry quay, just outside the Geirangerfjord World Heritage area. It is used mainly by Viking, whose larger ships no longer meet Geiranger's new emission rules.
Getting to town
Eidsdal is a small village at the quay. Geiranger is about 30 minutes by road over the mountain; the cruise shuttle stops at the Eagle Road (Ørnesvingen) viewpoint and takes about an hour.
Take the ship's shuttle or a tour to Geiranger and the Eagle Road. Fram bus 211 links Eidsdal ferry quay and Geiranger in about 30 minutes, but runs only a few times a day: check frammr.no. The Eidsdal–Linge car ferry crosses the fjord toward Valldal and the Trollstigen road (tour).
