Where you land depends on your ship, and beyond Fare you need a booked car or tour.
Where ships dock
- Tender only. Some ships tender straight to the waterfront at Fare, the main village.
- Others anchor in Maroe Bay and tender to a small wooden pier with no village or beach; Paul Gauguin runs a free Le Truck shuttle from there to Fare (about 20 minutes).
Getting to town
If you land at Fare, the shops, ATM, car hire offices and town beach are a few minutes' walk. From Maroe Bay, take the ship's shuttle to Fare.
There's no public transport, and taxis are few. Book a hire car, scooter or tour ahead for Maeva, Faie and Huahine Iti. Lagoon and motu trips leave from Fare.
Fares are as reported by the sources below and change often. Treat them as estimates.
