The old town is right outside the terminal, but Olinda and the beaches need a taxi through busy traffic.
Where ships dock
- Terminal Marítimo de Passageiros (the converted Armazém 7) in Bairro do Recife, the old-town island
- Larger ships may berth farther along the quay, with a bus to the terminal
Getting to town
The terminal opens onto Bairro do Recife (Recife Antigo): Praça do Marco Zero and Rua do Bom Jesus are about 350 m away. Follow the marked exit; don't wander into the working port.
Walk the old town. For Olinda (UNESCO, about 7 km north) or Boa Viagem beach, take a taxi or a ride-hailing app, about 15 to 20 minutes each way in normal traffic. The Brennand museums are farther west: tour or taxi.
Fares are as reported by the sources below and change often. Treat them as estimates.

Safety & tips
- Keep phones and jewellery out of sight in the old town and Olinda, and use app cabs rather than flagging cars.
