Castries and the north-coast beaches are easy by taxi. The famous Pitons are far from the port, so allow lots of time or book a tour.

Where ships dock

  • Pointe Seraphine (most ships; duty-free complex)
  • La Place Carenage (smaller ships and tenders; in town)

Getting to town

La Place Carenage is in central Castries. Pointe Seraphine is across the harbor, about a 15–20 minute walk to the center. A water taxi links the two.

Use government-authorized taxis (light-blue "TX" plates). Fares are fixed but confirm the price first. Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay is about 20–25 minutes by road. The Pitons, Sulphur Springs and Soufrière are about 75 minutes each way, so most people take a tour or boat trip for those.

Fares are as reported by the sources below and change often. Treat them as estimates.

Safety & tips

  • Note which terminal your ship uses. Pickups differ.
  • Traffic in and out of Castries can be slow on busy days.
  • Book Pitons trips through operators who guarantee your return to the ship.

Check U.S. State Department travel advisories before you sail.

⏰ Back to the ship on time

Castries traffic can be heavy. From Rodney Bay, leave 60 minutes before all-aboard. From Soufrière, much more.

Ship time can differ from local time. Your ship won't wait for independent travelers.
