Industrial port, heavy traffic and safety concerns around the port make a tour or booked driver the smart choice.

Where ships dock

  • Cruise berth inside the Port of Callao, a working container and cargo port

Getting to town

You cannot walk out: an internal shuttle takes you to the port gate. Lima's historic center is about 14 km away and Miraflores about 14 to 20 km, roughly 45 to 75 minutes each way in traffic.

Many lines run a shuttle to Plaza San Miguel, La Punta or the JW Marriott in Miraflores; the Marriott drop is the most useful. Otherwise use a pre-booked driver, Uber or Cabify from the gate. Public buses are not practical.
