Where ships dock

  • Downtown cruise terminal (most ships under about 50,000 GT), on the city waterfront
  • West Port (Nishiko), about 8 km out, for larger ships: shuttle or taxi needed

Getting to town

From the downtown terminal, Fisherman's Wharf MOO is about 5 minutes' walk and Washo Market and Kushiro Station about 15 minutes. On ship days the city runs an English-speaking information desk at the berth. From West Port there is nothing walkable: use the shuttle if one runs, or a taxi.

Local buses run from Kushiro Station to the Kushiro Marsh Observatory (about 40 minutes; cash fare about ¥690). A taxi to the marsh takes about 20 to 30 minutes. The Kushiro Shitsugen Norokko scenic train ended on 10 October 2026.
