Where ships dock

  • Gismerøya quay (170 m), about 2 to 2.5 km south of the town centre; a shuttle usually runs into town

Getting to town

From Gismerøya the shuttle drops near the Buen culture house on the river in the centre (about 10 minutes); walking takes about 35 minutes. The old town and Sjøsanden beach are walkable from there.

Walk once you are in town. A flat path leads from the centre through Furulunden pine park to Sjøsanden beach (about 15 to 20 minutes). Taxis can take you to Lindesnes Lighthouse, Norway's southernmost point, about 45 minutes away, or the Sjølingstad woollen mill (about 8 km).
