Very little is walkable from the tender dock; the Patagonian scenery needs a tour.

Where ships dock

  • Anchor in Aysén Fjord and tender to a floating dock at the small port terminal

Getting to town

The terminal has seating, restrooms and Wi-Fi, with a craft market outside. Puerto Chacabuco itself is tiny (the village is about half a mile away). Puerto Aysén is about 15 km away, and Coyhaique, the regional capital, more than an hour by road.

Taxis and van tours wait just outside the port gate. The scenery (Aiken del Sur park, Río Simpson, lakes and waterfalls) needs a tour; you'll need your ship card to get back into the port.
