From Miura, Sasebo Station is about 5 minutes' walk and the covered Sasebo shopping arcade (Yonkacho and Sankacho) about 8 minutes. From Uragashira, take the free shuttle.
For the Kujukushima islands, take a city bus from Sasebo Station to Pearl Sea Resort (about ¥390), then the Pearl Queen sightseeing boat (about 50 minutes; tickets about ¥2,200). Huis Ten Bosch is a theme park near Uragashira (1-day pass about ¥7,600); pick it or Kujukushima, not both, on a normal call. Tenkaiho viewpoint is about 15 minutes by taxi.
