Step ashore into one of Greece's prettiest walkable old towns.

Where ships dock

  • Nafplio port, beside the old town: small ships berth alongside
  • Larger ships anchor and tender to the harbour front

Getting to town

The port adjoins the old town: Syntagma Square and the Archaeological Museum are about 10 minutes' walk. The taxi station is about 200 m from the port and the KTEL bus station about 300 m (Hellenic Ports Association).

The old town is flat and walkable; Palamidi fortress is up a long stairway (or a taxi to the top gate). KTEL Argolida buses and taxis go to Mycenae and Epidaurus, each roughly 30 to 40 minutes away by road; check return buses before you go.
