A short walk over the bridge into Ortigia, one of Sicily's loveliest old towns.
Where ships dock
- Cruise terminal at Piazzale Quattro Novembre on the Porto Grande waterfront (Molo Sant'Antonio), on the mainland side
- Some ships anchor and tender straight to Ortigia
Getting to town
From the terminal, walk along the waterfront and over the bridge to Ortigia, the historic island, in about 10 minutes. SAIS bus 110 (Periplo Ortigia) also stops nearby on Via Rubino and loops round Ortigia; a single ticket is €1.20, bought online, in the app or from an authorised seller and validated on board.
Ortigia is best on foot. The Neapolis Archaeological Park (Greek theatre, Ear of Dionysius) is on the mainland, about 2.5 km away: taxi or bus. For Noto or Etna, take a tour.
Fares are as reported by the sources below and change often. Treat them as estimates.
